BIOGRAPHY

Bianca Leticia Medina is a Queens-based, proud Boricua-Mexicana dance artist, choreographer, and teaching artist from Chicago.

Her career spans concert dance, opera, theater, film, and community-engaged performance. Notable credits include The Metropolitan Opera, Jacob's Pillow, Houston Grand Opera, LA Opera, HOllywood bowl, and touring dance companies Urban Bush Women, CONTRA-TIEMPO, and Viver Brasil.

She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Iowa and draws from years of study in Afro-Latin diasporic movement practices, including Orixá traditions in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and Afro-Latin social and vernacular dance forms.

Through both performance and education, she creates spaces where artistry, cultural lineage, and embodied connection meet.

DANCER

Bianca is a versatile dance artist with a movement practice rooted in contemporary and modern release techniques alongside Afro-Latin and Afro-diasporic forms. Her training and performance experience span salsa, Afro-Cuban, samba, Afro-Brazilian and Orixá traditions, house, Latin commercial, hip hop, heels, improvisation, and dance theater. She brings a grounded physicality, musicality, and culturally informed approach to performance across concert dance, opera, musical theater, film, and commercial work.

TEACHING ARTIST

As a teaching artist, Bianca creates welcoming, embodied spaces where movement becomes a tool for connection, curiosity, and collective care. Her practice draws from contemporary dance, improvisation, Afro-Latin diasporic forms, yoga, and somatic movement, with experience teaching across ages, abilities, and communities.
